Fair Use Policy
Version 2026-09-19 · Effective 19 September 2026
1. Purpose of this policy
Merofly packages are shared mobile-data services. Fair use keeps the service usable for every traveller and protects the networks our connectivity suppliers rely on. This policy explains what normal personal travel use means.
2. Personal travel use
Merofly eSIMs are sold for personal travel use: browsing, maps, messaging, calls over data, streaming, work email and normal work tools while travelling.
3. Use that is not fair use
The following are outside fair use and may lead to speed management, suspension or cancellation.
- Using a package as a permanent home, office or fixed broadband replacement.
- Continuous high-volume tethering, server hosting, peer-to-peer seeding or automated bulk traffic.
- Commercial resale of data outside an approved Merofly partner arrangement.
- Sharing one eSIM across multiple devices or people at the same time in a way the package does not allow.
- Bulk SMS, dialler, call-termination or messaging-gateway traffic.
4. Unlimited and high-allowance packages
Where a package is described as unlimited or high-allowance, the supplier may apply a fair-use threshold after which speeds are reduced for the remainder of the validity period. Where such a threshold applies to your package, it is disclosed on the plan before purchase.
5. Network management
Local networks may prioritise their own subscribers, manage congestion, or restrict certain traffic types. Speeds and technologies available at a destination depend on those networks and are not guaranteed by Merofly.
6. What we do first
Where we can, we contact you before taking action. Where use is clearly abusive, fraudulent or harmful to a network, we may act immediately. We will explain the reason on request.
7. Questions
If you are unsure whether your planned use is within fair use, email support@merofly.com before you travel and we will tell you.
